This is the point at the Wednesday 10-28-09 Board of Estimates meeting
where Katie Shea began to report to the Board on the assessment of an
Institute of Internal Auditors group regarding the present state of the
City of Minneapolis internal audit function. Mayor Rybak was able to
withstand about one sentence -- he then left the meeting for the
duration of Shea's report. I've been told by several people that this is
a pattern -- the Mayor is apparently simply unable to hear criticism of
what he does or doesn't do.
On July 23,
Bob Carney Jr.commenced a class action lawsuit
today to stop the Pawlenty administration's unallotment of the Minnesota
Political Contribution Refund program.
The Minnesota Political Contribution Refund program provides individual
Minnesota taxpayers annual refunds of up to a $50 per person ($100 per
couple) for contributions to eligible state political campaigns and
political organizations. According to a June 23rd Star Tribune article:
"It is the only such dollar-for-dollar refund program in the country."
On January 11, 2010, Ramsey County Chief Judge Kathleen Gearin dismissed
Carney's lawsuit. Carney is appealing.
Both pro bono legal help and contributions for filing
costs are requested to appeal Judge Gearin's dismissal of my PCR lawsuit.

The cold but flat Twin Cities is already a leading bicycle commuting
city in the U.S. Minneapolis also has the world's most
extensive skyway system. The proposed Sky-Bi is a way to build on both
of these strengths... with an enclosed, elevated, all season bike/segway
skyway system, connecting the heart of downtown Minneapolis with:
the U. of M.
the Convention Center
the Milling District
Twinsville
surrounding trails and bike commuter routes
the amazing and beautiful Minneapolis Park System.
A lot of right-wingers have been
ridiculed by the MSM for questioning where President Obama was born,
and claiming he is ineligible to be President if he was born in Kenya.
These people deserve a serious answer to their questions -- not
ridicule and condescension. My recent book
(above) examines the question of President Obama's Constitutional
eligibility from a different perspective than most... let's assume he
WAS born in Kenya... what exactly does the Constitution require if
this is the case? I approached the question in as
fair-minded a way as I can, and quite frankly I was surprised by the
conclusions I reached. Feel free to click on the free download

A new Minnesota Political Documentary, Escape From
History -- The Minnesota Legislature, was previewed September 2,
2008, the second day of the Republican National Convention. It is
the first in a series titled "Escape From History." This
documentary focuses on the Minnesota Legislature, and on A Minnesota
Republican State Legislator's Contract with Voters. The
documentary also begins a study of the history of the Minneapolis park
system, viewing it as infrastructure, and examines two examples of "post
9/11 architecture" in and near the historic Minneapolis Milling
district, the new Guthrie, and the new Minneapolis Central Library.

Contracts with voters
Carney is currently advancing two "contracts with
voters" Below is a summary of a videotaped interview from 2006,

State Legislator's Contract with Voters"
It's obvious there's strong disagreement over the so-called
"marriage amendment." Here's the nub of another
amendment option (go to an article
for details) that might be acceptable to both sides:
1) Automatically stay
(delay), for one Legislative session and one general election, disputed state court
orders that holds a Minnesota non-criminal law violates the State
Constitution.
2) Let the Legislature, or
voters by petition, propose a clarifying amendment.
3) If it is approved, rehear the case based on the new amendment.
