Minneapolis, MN, October 12, 2009 -- Minneapolis City Council candidates, and persons suspected of being candidates for Mayor, are being polled on three questions relating to Mayor Rybak's participation in this year's rumored Minneapolis Mayoral Election. Political entrepreneur, suspected Moderate Progressive Censored (Republican) candidate for Mayor, and NEW! documentarian Bob Carney Jr. sent the following e-mail yesterday and today to all City Council candidates for whom he has e-mail addresses (about 45). Carney is trying to obtain e-mail addresses for the others. A similar e-mail was sent to eight other Mayoral Candidate suspects, including Mayor Rybak, (note: the schedule is one day behind):
Hi everyone --This is being sent to ALL City Council candidates, including all incumbents, with a copy to all Mayoral candidates for whom I have an e-mail address. A news release with the text of this e-mail will also be sent tonight to my media list.I'm launching the "R.T. and me" video campaign Tuesday 10/13. Could you respond briefly to these three questions (just label your answers 1,2,3 on your reply):QUESTION 1: Do you demand that Mayor Rybak commit to 3 one-hour televised forums broadcast before the election with any other Mayoral candidates who want to participate (moderator to be mutually agreed to)? This will be our petition. Please answer yes or no.QUESTION 2: If we can't get Mayor Rybak to commit, on video-tape, for the three one-hour sessions by Monday Oct 19th, will you come to City Hall Monday 4:00 PM so we can, as a group, "petition our government for a redress of grievances"? All the Mayoral candidates will be invited to come. We will demand that the Mayor agree to the three forums as stated above. Please answer yes or no.QUESTION 3: This question is for non-incumbents only! If we still can't find him, will you commit your campaign to participate in ward by ward sweeps, to try to locate him? Please answer yes or no.Here's how the sweeps will work: If you answer "yes", please mark your priorities for what order we should sweep the wards (I assume you'll want to start in your own wards --incumbents are being excluded because they might try to throw us off the trail.) You must be able to commit to send at least one volunteer -- you should personally keep door knocking in your own wards. We'll simply knock on doors, and say "Is the Mayor here, we'd like him to talk to the other Mayoral candidates" (If you find him, please call my cell phone immediately!) then we'll pass out any literature that any campaign provides us with. There's no reason not to leave literature for multiple council campaigns in a given ward. If enough of you participate, local media will HAVE to cover this.Ward Order you want to sweep(1 is swept first, etc) -- please copy the list for your e-mail reply, then mark your preferred order.12345678910111213Let's have an election!Bob Carney Jr.Moderate Progressive Republican candidate for Mayor of MinneapolisCell: 612-803-9084
Carney will be at Minneapolis City Hall Wednesday afternoon, October 13th, with one or more video cameras, trying to find Mayor Rybak. The result will be included in the first (and possibly last) episode of Carney's "R.T. and me" video series. This episode will be uploaded Tuesday night (note: due to length -- an upload of an uncompressed 10 minute .avi file takes about 7 hours -- and occasional technical difficulties with uploads, it may take a day or two for this to go online).
