-------------------

Minneapolis, MN, October 3, 2009 -- Moderate Progressive Republican Minneapolis Mayoral candidate Bob Carney Jr. has issued an open invitation to web sites and blogs to embed his new 10 minute video presentation of his "Sky-bi" plan for a new Minneapolis transportation infrastructure.

"Embedding videos is an increasingly important way of reporting news," Carney said.

"Since it went up late last week, I've received much favorable reaction to the video. We need to think about how to make Minneapolis a better city a year from now, ten years from now, and a hundred years from now.  My Sky-bi plan is a logical extension of our amazing park system, and a way to make our city better for future generations," Carney added.

Embedding video in a web site or blog is quick and easy

"Just copy and paste the embedding code into a table cell when you're viewing your site's html code -- it will render an ActiveX control," Carney said.

Here's the embedding code (Carney and www.republicancontract.com disclaim all liability):

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-1gqaNzPr8Y&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-1gqaNzPr8Y&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

"Of course, you're free to say what you want about the video, but as a short description, you might want to just copy the following into the table cell below, which may suffice," Carney said.

This video presents a plan for a "Sky-bi" -- a new kind of transportation infrastructure being advocated by Minneapolis Moderate Progressive Republican Bob Carney Jr. in his campaign for Mayor.  More information about the plan is available at: www.republicancontract.com

The squeeze is on

The Minneapolis Mirror web site (mplsmirror.com) has a video forum for candidates.  "Unfortunately, they have a five minute limit, so I produced a squeezed version of the video," Carney said.  "Terry Yzaguirre said it should be on-line by Saturday night.  I had some fun with this, and you might too -- I may have invented video speed-reading... or speed-something. But you'll have to do the embedding code yourself on this one, not that it's very difficult," Carney added.

Carney brings Sky-bi campaign to downtown Minneapolis streets

The week of October 5th, Carney plans to campaign afternoons from 4:00 to 5:30 at downtown Minneapolis bus stops every weekday but Wednesday, when the televised Mayoral Forum will be held.  "I plan to be bringing my Sky-bi map downtown during evening commute times most week days from now until the election," Carney said.  Carney can be reached each day by cell phone (612-803-9084) for his exact street location, which will be within 4 short blocks ('330 each) of the IDS center.

The PCR Lawsuit -- update

Carney's attorneys filed a response Friday, October 2nd, to the Defense motion to dismiss.  A hearing is scheduled for 1:30 PM October 13th, at the Ramsey County Courthouse, before Chief Judge Kathleen R. Gearin.  Carney plans to have his current filings on-line by early next week.  Carney is also still working on a letter to the members of the Legislative Advisory Commission, with a copy to be sent to Governor Pawlenty.  "I am very disturbed by the breadth of claimes for unallotment powers being advanced by the Pawlenty Administration," Carney said.  "At this point, I think the LAC should hold at least one more hearing, to seek clarification from the Pawlenty Administration with respect to the claims they are making in this lawsuit.  We appear to have reached a point where the Legislature needs to commence a formal study of all available options regarding the Pawlenty Administrations evident course of action regarding unallotment," Carney added.
