"I want to say a big THANK YOU  to the 10,000 voters (give or take a few) who voted for me in the Repubican Primary.  This web site has had about 30,000 visits in the last three days -- this translates to about 33% of visitors voting for my candidacy and against Tom Emmer.  You have sent a strong message -- even though the "money media" ignored the Republican primary, many, many people recognize how deeply flawed the Emmer candidacy is.  I will continue with my video series Tom and Me, but will expand it to: Tom (and Mark and the other Tom) and me.  I'm also mulling over a few other options.

I want to say a special thank you to Bill McGaughey, my running mate, who added greatly to our effort, both with his own internet and posting campaign, and with his advice and insight.  I also want to thank John Uldrich, who ran in the Independence Party primary -- we met half a dozen times, and communicated frequently.

As with the 2009 Minneapolis Mayoral election, the Republican primary was effectively suppressed.  How and why this happened will be part of my continuing reporting.  I don't think the primary can viewed as a true referendum on Mr. Emmer, because the question wasn't properly put to the voters.

I called Mr. Emmer's campaign last night to offer congratulations to him -- he did win, after all.

By the way, Tom Horner only had about 1,600 hundred more votes.  As for Rob Hahn, FORGETTABOUTIT!  -- Carney/McGaughey outpolled Hahn about four to one.  Makes you wonder why the media covers things the way they do...

Please stay tuned!" -- Bob Carney Jr, Aug. 11th
